Monberg moved to Chicago after graduating from Indiana University - Bloomington, where she earned a joint Juris Doctorate/Master
of Public Affairs degree. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University, with a major in French and Political
Science and a minor in German.
While in graduate school, Ms. Monberg worked for more than three years in assisted-living
homes for adults afflicted with mental illnesses. That experience has led Ms. Monberg to become more sensitive to the needs
of disabled adults.
Upon graduating from law school, Ms. Monberg practiced in a small general practice firm in Northwest
Indiana. She later worked downtown in Chicago for a firm that specializes in administrative law. She has now joined forces
with Virgil Sanders, a retired Social Security Administration district manager, to provide assistance to those who are attempting
to obtain SSI or Social Security Disability benefits.
Ms. Monberg is licensed to practice law in the states of Illinois
and Indiana. She is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives, Chicago Bar Association,
Illinois State Bar Association and the Board of the Hyde Park-Kenwood Community Conference.
