VIRGIL SANDERS
Virgil Sanders began working for the Social Security Administration in September of 1970. He began as a claim’s representative and was promoted to supervisor in December of 1973 and was again promoted to the position of Branch Manager of the Auburn, Indiana Social Security Office in April of 1976. Subsequently, Virgil’s position was upgraded to that of a District Manager position in 1998. Virgil received a Social Security Administration Commissioner’s citation in 1994, the highest award obtainable by a Social Security employee. Virgil retired from the Social Security Administration in September of 2001. Virgil has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Dayton. He also is a veteran of the Vietnam war. He served as a Navy hospital corpsman, attached to the U.S. Marine Corp from July of 1966 through August of 1967.
